Lithography: tools and materials

Lithography: tools and materials

Lithography is the technique to transfer to paper, a picture made of a stone. Although originally they worked only on stone, there are now alternatives such as micro grained aluminum mould and polyester lithographic.

It is based on the principle of oil-water repulsion: With a pen (stick, tablet ...) fatty, drawing on the stone (previously prepared) is made, the image is fixed, it is moistened with a sponge and water and then inked with width roller. The ink will only remain in the draw zone (fats) running out of ink the rest of the matrix.
