A principios de los 80, el marcador de pintura POSCA se convirtió en la herramienta fetiche de las comunidades artísticas de la cultura urbana, en particular, entre los grafiteros, que adoptaron rápidamente este marcador, pues respondía a sus necesidades: práctico y eficaz, ideal para tener siempre a mano pintura para poder expresarse en la calle y compartir su creación con todos los ciudadanos. El éxito fue tal, que empezó a extenderse más allá del espacio urbano. Así, los artistas de estudio comenzaron a “salir fuera” para hacer arte callejero, mientras que los grafiteros empezaron a trabajar sobre lienzo.
